VAN HORN PARENTS ASSOCIATION MONUMENT COMMITTEE -Friday October 21, 2016

On Friday October 21, 2016 at a joint Birthday Party held at the home of Former State Senator Marty Reilly - celebrating Tom " Beady " O'Malley's  65TH Birthday  and  Father Francis " Nune " Reilly's 63RD Birthday - the genesis of the idea for the formation and creation of the Van Parents Association Monument Committee was conceived.

The Committee was formed that night  for the purpose of building a Monument to be located at the Entrance to Van Horn Park to Honor for posterity - The Van Horn Parents Association - and all the Parents, Coaches, Friends, Supporters, Volunteers associated with this " Great Championship Organization " for all  their contributions to Youth Sports which made a positive difference in the lives  of thousands of Children and Families on Hungry Hill  and throughout the City of Springfield from the decades of the 1950"s to the decade of the 1980's.

Among the people who were also in attendance at this meeting were Mike O' Malley  and Kevin Robbins.

At the Meeting the following individuals were elected as Officers of The Van Horn Parents Association  Monument Committee - which was created that night.
